Child Custody and Child Support
We help clients seeking sole custody, joint custody and shared custody. Joint custody is a designation that provides both parents with a say over the child's life. In a sole custody situation, one parent makes decisions for the welfare of the children. In a shared custody situation, the parties each have 50 percent parenting time.
Child support in Kansas is determined by Kansas Supreme Court guidelines. The child support guidelines consider the parties' incomes, age of children, day care costs, insurance costs, travel costs to pick up the children and other matters pertinent to the parties' financial conditions.
